Right now, in places like Sudan, Gaza, Yemen, and in 10 other countries, people are starving to death because of war. Today, about 70% of starvation is caused by war or violent conflict.

It can be hard to imagine losing your home—and access to food—but this is the reality for 318 million people worldwide right now.

Many of them don’t have access to food that can last through a prolonged crisis or displacement.

The roads are damaged, grocery stores have been bombed, and most often there are deliberate food blockades. That’s when food aid trucks are not allowed to pass.

This is where Wisdom Science Collaborative comes in, a nonprofit dedicated to making special kinds of food for people caught up in war.

Our work targets people starving because of war. We want to invent food that ends the need for traditional delivery or storage. For example, we may invent food that is portable and regenerative so that individual families have backup food when there is a food blockade.

We are about to launch a program with college students and scientists to begin the process of building an innovations database.

Our first innovation might be a personalized hydroponic system connected to an atmospheric water generator.
